Richard D. Chatwin, Esq.

Richard D. Chatwin is a partner with the law firm Gerrard Cox Larsen. He is a certified specialist with the State Bar of Nevada in Elder Law. He is also the sole Nevada representative of the Special Needs Alliance, a national invitation-only group of attorneys focusing on special needs issues. Mr. Chatwin is also a Certified Elder Law Attorney with the National Elder Law Foundation and works extensively with clients who need help with SSI, Medicaid, Veterans and other governmental benefits, as well as special needs planning, estate planning, guardianship, and probate matters.

Mr. Chatwin holds a Juris Doctor from the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Nevada Las Vegas, and a Bachelors of Arts degree in Philosophy from Brigham Young University.

While in law school, Mr. Chatwin served as a member of the Nevada Law Journal and worked as a legal extern for the civil division of the United States Attorneys Office. He also received a merit tuition scholarship, served as president of the Las Vegas student chapter of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society, and earned two C.A.L.I. awards while there.

Mr. Chatwin is licensed to practice in Nevada and is a member of the Southern Nevada Estate Planning Council and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He has been a resident of Clark County, Nevada since 1989.
